Following Castle Composite Doors successful entry into the fire rated door market in 2004 using specially developed Acell skin designs and timber door framing, Castle have recently had their fire resistant door re-tested using some unique innovations in Acell foam core technology and Winkhaus aluminium clad framing materials.
Using specially manufactured Acell Mineral Filled Phenolic Foam that has been laminated to thickness using 2 pieces of foam, jointed using formulated Phenolic Foam as an adhesive, reinforced with glass fibre mat. This unique foam construction enables the door to achieve a 30/30 fire rating using the standard 13mm deep raised and fielded panel moulding. This means the fire doors can be used in combination with non-fire rated doors without any difference between the doors appearance.
Doors have been tested using a range of hardware options including multi-point locking to achieve Secure by Design accreditation.
Details of the construction of the framing material can be obtained from Castle Composite Doors.
